Current Landscape of the 2024 Election

The current landscape of the 2024 Election is shaping up with significant developments across both major political parties and the introduction of third-party candidates.

Republican Candidates

  • Donald Trump, the former U.S. President, remains a dominant figure in the Republican field, leading with a significant portion of the party’s support despite facing legal challenges and indictments in several cases. Trump’s campaign has been characterized by promises of sweeping changes, including stricter immigration policies and a more confrontational stance on foreign policy, especially regarding China and NATO allies.
    • Trump won Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, Virgin Islands, South Carolina, and Michigan at this point in time.
    • As we state earlier even with his legal troubles and his many indictments/jail-time, it seems that Trump continues to keep up steam for the 2024 election. Many voters stand by his statements that he could do a better job than the current Biden administration.
  • Nikki Haley, the former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and South Carolina governor, is Trump’s primary challenger for the Republican nomination. Haley has emphasized her youth and diverse background, aiming to present herself as a credible voice on gender and race issues within the party. Despite trailing Trump in early primaries and facing targeted attacks, Haley remains in the race, advocating for a strong U.S. stance on foreign policy and criticizing Trump’s divisive leadership style.

Democratic Candidates

  • Joe Biden, the incumbent president, is seeking re-election, focusing on his administration’s achievements in economic recovery post-COVID-19 pandemic and framing the election as a battle for the soul of America. Despite concerns about his age, Biden’s campaign has highlighted successes in lowering unemployment, GDP growth, and infrastructure investment. The Democratic Party and major donors back Biden, though he faces challenges related to inflation, immigration, and foreign policy.
    • There is a slight protest against Biden for the 2024 election as many voters have begun to vote uncommitted for Biden in 2024 on the Michigan ballot. However, many democratic supporters are stating the amount was less than what occurred for Obama in his previous years.
    • Biden is also currently being blamed for the Gaza and Israel war for the 2024 election. Many are stating from both sides of the aisle that Biden’s administration is not doing enough to end the war or cause a cease fire. Almost likes he’s playing for both sides of the conflict.
    • Lastly, the death of Laken Riley has stirred up additional controversy as the the nursing student’s attacker was a Venezuelan illegal immigrant. Many are stating that her death could have been prevented if Biden actually attempted to stop the invasion at the United State border. This current 2024 election is definitely going to be interesting to see if all of these issues will cause a drop off in voters.
  • Dean Phillips, a U.S. congressman from Minnesota, has launched a long-shot challenge to Biden, criticizing the president’s ability to secure another term and proposing to focus on economic repair and national unity.

Independent Candidates

  • Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an anti-vaccine activist, is running as an independent, initially intending to challenge Biden for the Democratic nomination. Kennedy’s candidacy, alongside other independent and third-party bids, could influence the election dynamics, particularly among voters dissatisfied with both major party candidates.
    • Although Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is against certain vaccines, it is strictly important to state that he is not against vaccination as a whole. During his legal battles for the environment an advocacy group of women approached him stating that they have had trouble with their children due to vaccinations.
    • Although this information isn’t fully corroborated, it still holds steam to RFK Jr.’s intentions. As many try to paint him out to be this lunatic, he’s primarily worried about the fact that there could be mercury causing autism in children from vaccines.
    • His concerns are primarily about thimerosal, a mercury-containing preservative that was used in many vaccines until the early 2000s. This ingredient in vaccines has been generally removed which is interesting as the scientist community states that it was simply a precaution and do not admit any possibly of harm.
    • Going into the 2024 election Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is still attempting to run with supporters who stand behind him. He is generally notarized as a free speech advocate who is fighting against the elite powers who want to keep him out of politics. RFK Jr. has also been criticized in his advocacy against the COVID-19 pandemic vaccines which he states did not have enough testing to be safe.
  • Cornel West and Jill Stein are also in the race as independent candidates, with platforms appealing to progressive voters and focusing on issues like poverty, housing, and environmental policy.

2024 Election Key Issues

  • The 2024 election is seeing a focus on a range of critical issues, including abortion, the economy, immigration, crime, and foreign policy, notably relations with China, the situation in Russia/Ukraine, and the situation in Israel/Gaza.
  • The Republican primary season began with the Iowa caucuses on January 15, followed by other key primaries. The Democratic primary also saw early contests, with Biden winning in several states.

The general 2024 election is set for November 5, 2024, with the primaries and campaigning in full swing, highlighting the stark contrasts in policies and visions for the country’s future among the candidates. This 2024 election is plagued with extremism from both sides including pro-Trump and pro-Biden advocates.

Issues here arise for a few reasons including, but not limited to, polarity, extremism, and delusion. Sadly, both sides of the aisle in the 2024 election act like if their candidate doesn’t get elected than the entire world will end. Americans as a whole need to understand that it doesn’t matter if Trump or Biden are elected president. It’s not going to solve worldwide issues or even issues in the United States.

One thing to note is that people who are pro-Biden believe that if he stays in office the world will get better for women, the economy, and students. This will not likely be the case as women/abortion is being used as a token by the Biden administration to act as if they truly care about these issues when in reality they are just using it to promote the 2024 election for Biden. The economy is being praised by the far-left stating that unemployment, inflation, and scarcity is all down after the COVID-19 lockdowns. Lastly, students believe Biden will be able to remove their student loan debts if he stays in office which will most likely remain as false promises with only a few being helped. Additionally, even though the statistics for the economy look good, American’s don’t really feel an ease from inflation as everything in people’s lives still costs more than what it would have 5 years ago.

The thing to note for people that are pro-Trump is that if he gains the office back from the Biden administration than he’ll be able to “make America great again.” This includes more republican-like policies to assist with the economy, better foreign relations, and lastly a more stable border. In this case if Trump won the 2024 election he’ll be able to give states more assistance to close down the border against the current invasion which is occurring. Many illegal immigrants are entering the southern border with Mexico with people from all over the world entering including Chinese, Africans, Venezuelans, and much more. People also believe if Trump regains power after the 2024 election, he’ll be able to stomp down on the Ukraine-Russia and Israel-Hamas wars. Finally, American’s in the United States fully believe during Trump’s presidency from 2016 to 2020 was a time of economic prosperity which they want to achieve again.

The last notes on this topic include many other factors that were not mentioned including the Democratic candidates being against the police or law enforcement. As you can tell California and New York are some of the main states that have issues with the police being vilified by the party. However, crime has been increasing throughout the states with active looting, break-ins, murders, robberies, and burglaries. Yet the police are essentially handcuffed as if they do their job they potentially suffer repercussions and if they don’t do their job they also suffer repercussions. It’s undeniable that violent crime has been increasing since the COVID-19 lockdowns with many communities wanting more police presence. Another thing to note is that gun control laws, drugs (psychedelics such as marijuana, shrooms, and LSD), and  taxing laws are highly debated on both sides of the Republican and Democratic sides.
