Best Classes in Diablo IV

Diablo IV was fully released on June 6th, 2023 and it has become one of the most played games of all-time. Blizzard Activision did a great job at creating the next iteration of the Diablo franchise with the majority of players loving the game. It has created a wonderful story which our adventurers following along trying to defeat Lilith. As an adventure role playing game it has captivated audiences everywhere while maintaining a proper balance between the try-hard gamers and casual gamers. Overall it’s obtained great scored from players across the board.

Diablo IV Story

The beginning of the story for Diablo IV is encompassed with a magnificent cinematic filled with 3 gold-seekers and an individual who wanted to learn more about the old ruins. Very quickly Lilith was summoned by the death of the three people with one of the four coordinating the summoning. As your adventure begins you find out that Lilith has begun her rampage throughout the world with the first town you’ve visited. Iosef helped free you from almost being murdered and another cinematic was introduced in the church with blood petals showing that Lilith is here.

Now a journey begins of trying to understand what’s happening in the world and how your adventurer can save humanity from Lilith’s wrath. We are delved into a world filled with suffering, excitement, curiosity, rituals, and of course loot. Lorath, or as we like to call him Lorass, will also take a major part in the story helping you solve the mysteries to stop the daughter of hatred. Although we would love to explain the story further, it’s important to buy Diablo IV and experience it first-hand.

Gameplay

The gameplay of Diablo IV didn’t take too much of a wild turn compared to other adventure role-playing games. However, it’s extremely important to state that its very fulfilling. Whether you’re a barbarian whos casting whirlwind with bleed damage or a necromancer with minions to do your bidding. The class balance is still on the rocks as the game has only been out for two weekends. Loot goblins still exist which is enticing to grab a hold of, elite mobs, dungeons, and special areas all play a role in the current gameplay.

Some criticisms arose as the nightmare dungeons in Diablo IV were not properly tuned. As in they were very difficult in the later levels, but they didn’t drop the proper loot to make sense for doing harder content. A new update is going to be released for Diablo IV soon addressing the current player critiques for the gameplay mechanics. The main issues people had with gameplay currently is for the hardcore players who sometimes bugged out causing them to disconnect with their players dying forever. Other bugs in the gameplay include items that didn’t properly proc the chance on hit which was set up in certain ways using the skill tree and paragon levels. Although it’s a brand new game its assumed that there will be issues in the gameplay.

Other important notes about the Diablo IV gameplay include that leveling and setting up the skill tree is different depending on different levels. For example, some characters have a different 1-80 recommendations compared with the 80-100 skill tree. As mobs get more difficult survivability may become less important compared to becoming a sort of glass cannon with your choice of class. The final game mechanic coupled with survivability and glass cannon builds is resource generation for certain classes. As you go toward the end game with paragon levels you may notice resource generation is less of a issue and begin to skill more toward damage rather then resource generation.

The gameplay involved in Diablo IV is wonderful even for casual gamers and no-life gamers alike. Some state in their comments on the game that the gameplay is more designed for newbs compared to the pros. The developers probably kept this in mind as they battled between the idea of deciding to make the game increasingly more complicated, but losing out on the general audience who might enjoy the game. To give the benefit of the doubt it seems the developers of Diablo IV did a great job trying to balance the complexity and the general enjoyment of the game. Remember Blizzard games will tend to get more complicated and more difficult throughout the lifespan compared to when they are first released. They may try to make the game easier to understand temporarily to entice more audiences and then when things kick off into seasons make the game more difficult to understand for newbs, but giving the pro’s more to do.

Classes in Diablo IV

There are ultimately five classes in Diablo IV, but there is a high chance that new classes will be added throughout the game’s lifespan. For now it’s crucial to state the classes there are and how friendly they are to newcomers and pro’s alike. The current classes in Diablo IV include the Barbarian, Sorcerer, Necromancer, Druid, and Rogue. Players can easily create new characters and enjoy the game with each class, but they’ll notice that the classes are somewhat unbalanced.

  • Barbarian – The barb is a melee based character who’s able to equipped two one-handed weapons, a two-handed bludgeoning type weapon, and a two-handed sword type weapon. The gameplay of a barbarian is extremely important as they can easily buff the party members with different shouts. As a solo player it may be difficult to enjoy the barbarian as much as other ranged type classes because some mechanics in boss fights can be extremely frustrating as a melee class. The barbarian class in Diablo IV mostly takes off as you get toward end game as resource generation for whirlwind becomes less of an issue and you have more to play with different skills. Some of the best ways people enjoy playing the Barb is with thorns and bleed damage which you could couple with different paragon levels and skill trees to really do some major damage. Another method of playstyle will be the bludgeoning skill tree and paragon level methods.
  • Sorcerer – They tend to easier be played in early levels of the game, but their glass cannon methods become a bit weaker toward the late game stages. Sorcerers in Diablo IV can dish out a ton of damage and their area of effect (AOE) damage does a great bit to level early on. Many people, especially newbs can probably pick up a sorcerer class and easily get through the game without a ton of issues throughout gameplay. However, stated early in this description toward the end game portion they can be taken over by the other classes who tend to do a bit better such as the Barbarian and Druid.
  • Necromancer – Necromancers tend to be really fun with the minion type builds that players can choose from. Having your minions do all the work isn’t only fun, but it’s very broken early on in the game. Some complain about the minion artificial intelligence (AI) as they may stand in elite mobs and boss damage pools which can easily wipe them off the face of the Diablo IV planet. It’s also crucial to note that the minions aren’t the best part of the necromancer, but they do a great job at auto-attacking the enemies to death. Some builds for the necromancer can become extremely overpowered such as using corpse explosion which will do tons of area of effect (AOE) damage. Currently the necromancer is heavily item dependent compared to other builds with the barbarians and the druids, even though the other two classes are annoying to level through.
  • Rogue – Rogues tend to be a lot of fun with their multiple playstyles and the amount of different builds you can go as a pro player. They are somewhat glass cannons as well as they dish out a ton of damage and the gameplay with them is extremely fun. Dashing around, doing tons of damage, recouping, and doing it all over again is extremely fun with this class. It’s critical to note that you have to run around as a rogue, but the developers of Diablo IV did a great job at allowing players to do these rogue builds. They seem to be the perfect middle ground of being fun to level with and also having the ability to get through the end game with tons of damage.
  • Druid – This class is quite disgusting to play through early on the in the game. Their gameplay starts off extremely slow and is a grueling process as the other classes just do way more damage early on. However, toward the end game druids can of course be a slow powerhouse out of the five that are available. As the game is still somewhat new people are still finding different ways to play druids through their lifespans in the game. Easily they are one of the top tier end game classes, but many people may just not have the patience early on to see what they can become in the future.

Satisfaction of Diablo IV

It’s heavily viewed as a great game with many ratings hitting 9/10 to 8/10 with some extreme critics. The game definitely does have bugs that can be world-ending for hardcore players, but traversing the game is extremely fun to do. It allows you to start off with world Tier 1 which makes things easy, but more experiences players can choose to be in world Tier 2 with additional benefits. As you continue leveling there will be availabilities of joining in on world Tier 3 and Tier 4. As you go up in the world tiers your character will have lower resistances, but if you truly want to get better at the game you will have to increase your world tier.

Sacred items begin dropping in world Tier 3 and Ancestral items begin dropping in world Tier 4. Professionals of this gaming genre know that you must increase your difficulty for getting better loot in the game. Some have noted that there are issues with doing certain higher tier dungeons such as nightmare dungeons. Sometimes doing nightmare dungeons can possibly drop sacred items which simply means its not as good as it can get. Other have noted you may feel a bit of a lull in gaming as your classes power can feel a bit hindered until you can get the better loot known as the ancestral items, and even then it doesn’t necessarily mean that it would be a guaranteed upgrade.

Although there are a few criticisms here and there about Diablo IV the game is overall a masterpiece. Once the developers and patches come through many of the issues with the game can basically cease to exist with only the good parts of Diablo IV remaining. Everyone who has currently played the game has ultimately enjoyed it and an important disclaimer should be added before joining into the game. It’s heavily addicting playing through the story and learning about Lilith and the Prime Evils. Especially seeing new loot which is an upgrade and seeing legendaries that drop can definitely feel fulfilling. Early in the levels just simply seeing the yellow rare items drop is enough to give you a couple orgasms. Let alone seeing an Legendary Ancestral item drop which is an upgrade for your character would make you have a giant orgasm.

Conclusion

Diablo IV has seen worldwide success and has become a new main game for players everywhere. People generally enjoy it very much and the only thing that could be changed is a few user interface (UI) adjustments as they currently seem to be ported from the console version. People can’t really blame Blizzard for this decision as getting normies who play consoles would be a huge upgrade for them in sales and creating new fans of the franchise. PC gamers are wonderful in their own sense, but getting normies who play FIFA, NBA 2k, and Call of Duty would be the best bet for the longevity of Blizzard.

Diablo IV did a great job at somewhat balancing the classes depending on early game and late game power. They’ll continue to update the game in it’s life cycle and we may just see some great improvements over its life span. Players and Gamers everywhere are just wondering how will the seasons work after the game has been released for a long time. As we saw with Diablo III the game began to lose it’s appeal over time and the new expansion didn’t really do much to entice players to continue playing as rifts became boring. Regardless of whether this game will be great throughout the years, or if it’ll be a slow forming shit-show doesn’t really matter. Currently it’s a very fun and addicting game to play if you enjoy collecting loot and upgrading your character.
