Choncc’s Treasure has come back to League of Legends TeamFight Tactics (TFT) and it is one of the greatest experiences you can ever have in the game. This game mode has become the epitome of dopamine influx to people’s brains. To explain it simply, it’s the same concept of a normal or ranked in TFT, however, it adds in a component of gambling. You don’t actually have to bet anything or real life money. The item that is gambled in this game mode is your luck or RNG.
Choncc’s Treasure
You might be asking yourself why should I play this mode? Well to start it off it adds chaos into the game allowing people to either go hard early and fight off their enemies with 1-cost units. The other option is more enjoyable. Holding off and taking a few hits early on allowing yourself to hit level 10 and roll to get a 5-cost unit to a 3-star.
The reason this is different from normal/ranked is because it adds in loot orbs given to you by Choncc, the man, the myth, and the legend. Popping in every stage he gives players special items. No I’m not talking about radiant items, I’m taking about the good stuff. Ornn’s forge of items adds in the lunacy you’ve always wanted in the normal game mode.
Additionally, you start off with a 4-cost or 5-cost champion meaning you can get a Hwei and start cloning your 1-cost champions early getting them to a 3-star. You might also get a Lilia or Wukong who dominates early in the game with three items being placed on them immediately.
Finally, you’re given more options to actually get that 10-mythic game. Tome of traits and champion carousels often give you the needed traits that you’ve always wanted. The last trick Choncc has up his sleeve is that once you drop below 50 HP, you’re given a golden orb. This might give you the necessary loot to win you the game.
Strategies
Regarding strategies in Choncc’s, well there isn’t a one side wins all type of strategy. There’s numerous ways you can play the game mode that you would like to take part in. For example, if you keep wanting to go for that Mythic or Fortune build then you can say screw it and always reach for the stars. However, if you don’t care about what specific build you want to go, then you can kind of adapt to what the game is giving you.
Another example is if you want to run exalted composition then you can without any other traits. After you get your 5 champs then you can reach for the heavens with overpowered 4 or 5 cost champions. Kind of like going for Morgana, Syndra, and Kayn. It definitely helps because your overall damage has been increased using the exalted buff.
The overarching strategy in this game is to either manage your health, manage your early/mid/late game, and managing your income like in the normal game modes. Hyper roll would be a close example, but this game mode is nothing close to anything in it’s league.
Overall, most players tend to try and pick the gold related augments, save up, get interest, hopefully win a couple of rounds, or go on full losing streaks for a streak. This allows people to reach level 9 or 10 in the game and then rush to try and get a 3-star, 4-cost, or 5-cost champion. This pretty much wins you the game in most circumstances.
Bad Time?
From all the glory I’ve been giving Choncc’s it doesn’t seem like you can have a bad time in the game, right? Well that’s completely untrue. This is because of the RNG factor in the game that causes so much chaos/unpredictability. You can get completely ruined in this mode on certain occasions because guess what, you’re just not getting what you need.
Potentially there could be a full AP team, but you just keep getting AD specific items. No amount of reforgers can save you from that type of disaster. Another factor is that other people in Choncc’s could be getting a blessing from the RNG gods making your life a complete shit show.
The only rule of thumb in this case is don’t take the game too seriously. Get in, get your dopamine rush through the randomness/chaos the game gives to you, and get out. Choncc’s isn’t supposed to be taken seriously, but more of a research and development type of game. What I mean by this is that it’s something you use to explore the champions in the game. See where each of them excels and fails at. Also, don’t forget that Irelia 3-star is one of the godliest possible accomplishments you can get in the game. Go ahead and try it out.

Choncc’s treasure game mode will be live from May 15th, 2024 to June 10th, 2024. GET YOUR ENJOYMENT FROM IT AS LONG AS IT LASTS. People all over Reddit have claimed it’s one of the best things to come out in Teamfight Tactics. They even compared Choncc’s treasure to URF for Summoners Rift. Although it will be gone it’s legacy will live on through the player’s minds. We’ll be waiting for the next set in Teamfight Tactics to explore and enjoy the RNG once again.
