What Really Happened to One True King (OTK)

One True King is hailed as a influencer network and media company started by many established content creators. The beginning of OTK was considered as a wonderful moment by viewers and fans alike. It started with Asmongold, Mizkif, Esfand, Tips out, and Rich Campbell. Most of these creators have roots in TwitchTV a streaming platform, but also post several videos on the popular video platform known as YouTube.

They have garnered thousands to millions of subscribers and fans who love watching their content day in and day out. One True King started out as a group of friends who wanted to do more with their fame and potentially make a profit while making content together that they love. OTK has its own YouTube channel and TwitchTV membership which they produce wonderful content on. So you must be asking what are the controversies that are linked to this famous group? We’ll get to that right now.

One True King: Two Controversies

Mizkif – Harboring his roommate CrazySlick who was accused of touching the female streamer AdrianahLee during a party in 2020 while she was unconscious.

Timeline of Events:

• Novaruu hosted her 21’st birthday on January 19, 2020
• AdrianahLee attended with several of her friends
• She became intoxicated and ended up passing out
• Friends watched her to ensure her safety
• CrazySlick who lived with Mizkif followed her throughout the party
• CrazySlick attempted to touch her body while she was incapacitated
• Friends of AdrianahLee told him to leave the room and leave her alone
• He claimed he was only checking her pulse to make sure she was alive
• Friends told AdrianahLee what happened to her while she was unconscious
• It began with Novaruu sharing her story without her consent on stream in July 2021
• She then decided to share her full story, but was confronted by MayaHiga, Mizkif, and MitchJones
• MayaHiga and MitchJones decided to go to her home to “talk” things out
• She posted a TwitLonger sharing her story which was downplayed by MayaHiga and Mizkif
• TrainwrecksTV took it onto himself to work with her to represent her story
• Train went on to have a Discord call with Asmongold, Mizkif, Mitch, XQC, and others
• Train secretly recorded the conversation and provided the evidence to Destiny
• Destiny aired the long conversation in 3 parts on his YouTube channel
• Mizkif continuously defended CrazySlick stating “he’s my friend”
• Mizkif was put onto leave by One True King on September 20th, 2022
• He initiated a comeback stream which was childish and watched a video mocking sexual harassment
• Mizkif was finally reintroduced by One True King on December 31st, 2022
• Statements from OTK included they held a private investigation with a third-party firm
• One True King also commented on his comeback stream in October 11th, 2022

It’s impossible to know what exactly happened during the third-party investigation or what actually happened the day Maya decided to visit AdrianahLee’s home before she shared her story. Many in the community believe from watching the recorded Discord conversation that Mizkif definitely had a hand in downplaying the story from Adrianah. He wanted to protect his creepy and disgusting friend even though he knew what CrazySlick was capable of. She wouldn’t want to talk with CrazySlick’s best friend, so Mizkif decided to send MitchJones and Maya to do his dirty work.

Allegedly, after the sexual assault by CrazySlick, him and Mizkif worked together to try to shadow ban Adrianah from the community by calling her a clout chaser. Other events included Mizkif taunting her at an in-person event in front of all of their friends. After Adrianah shared her story to the public with the help of Train there were numerous other women who shared screenshots of CrazySlick harassing them in personal messages. Some of the women were even called derogatory slurs when they refused to sleep with him and others were sent photos of his penis.

This event involving Mizkif hemorrhaged the influencer network known as One True King due to the fact he was slapped on the wrist and reinstated. It also showed holes in the organization as Mizkif was protecting a creep living in his home and allowing him to continue his disgusting acts by providing him a massive clout base. Even though Mizkif didn’t necessarily harm anyone, he allowed for harm to be conducted under his watch, downplayed the victim’s story, and tried to move past the situation as if nothing ever happened. Some Twitter commenters even referenced the case of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell comparing them using the phrase “Mizkif Epstein and Maya Maxwell”.

Rich Campbell – In December 2022 Rich was accused of the rape by Azalia Lexi who provided text messages of the day of the rape. Evidence was provided on her Twitter also known as Spicy White Claw with text messages from the day it happened with Rich messaging her “you ok” after a prolonged visit at his place.

Timeline of Events:

• Azalia Lexi and Rich Campbell had a turbulent relationship for four years
• They began their physical relationship in 2019
• Rich stated he only saw Azalia as a sexual object yet pretended he cared for her
• Azalia Lexi may have actually wanted a relationship with Rich, but he had other motives
• Rich attempted multiple times to try and sleep with her with Azalia refusing on several occasions
• In January 2022 Azalia Lexi decided to give him one more chance to redeem himself
• On the day of the rape she tried to work with him about their potential relationship
• At the time they were simply in the movie theatre of his complex
• Per her statements, he stated that they needed to leave the theatre due to the complex’ rules
• She went up to his room with him making attempts to touch each other
• Azalia declined every time in which he proceeded to whip out his penis
• Rich Campbell began masturbating in front of her and telling her she would look good pregnant
• She refused again and again each time Rich tried to have sex with her
• At the end of the night he rolled her over and raped her
• He finished inside of her unprotected and told her that she can’t stay
• She left and found a hotel nearby to try and come to term with her feelings

Azalia Lexi shared her story in a TwitLonger on December 16th, 2022 and received a continued week long harassment brigade. Allegedly there were some individuals who even sent her death threats. Regardless it was extremely brave of her to tell her story as it may have saved another woman from being sexually assaulted in the long run. As long as people know of the allegations it’ll provide them a sound argument to stay away from him, report him, or prevent him from being in a role to continue his criminal behavior.

After One True King heard about the allegations Rich Campbell stepped down and resigned immediately. Now he is no longer on their found list and is not associated with the organization. Regardless of the events that occurred it’s important to state that One True King responded quickly to the incident and Asmongold made a reply on his YouTube channel. Professionalism is important in these type of events, but the serious blow to the group is that a few months beforehand there was the Mizkif incident.

Relentlessly, these two controversies went out in 2022 and a few members have departed the organization with only one joining in after the controversies. Twitter commentators defended Mizkif and Rich Campbell stating the alleged victims do not have proof for their allegations and should have contacted the police after the incidents. In reality it’s not so simple as many rapists are not convicted in criminal courts due to the fact of no usable evidence. This is why many victims of sexual assault refuse to get the police involved as their truths are turned into stories with criminals walking free.

One True King: Original Members

One True King increased in it’s fame as it continued on making wholesome content. Many early watchers may have been critical of the move from Asmongold to start the network, but these were merely the minority. The majority of fans were excited to see what may come out of this group of friends and what content they may produce.  They had numerous changes in those involved with the network, so lets break down their original members and figure out who’s still involved:

1. Asmongold: Started off as a World of Warcraft gamer who made his rounds on YouTube with achievement guides on his channel known as ZackRawrr. He moved onto TwitchTV as he was a bright individual making sure he can monetize his ability to play games and stay at home. His growth and continued success is mainly attributed to his egregious criticisms of World of Warcraft as he noticed a major downgrade in the game over several expansions and patches. He must thank the random YouTube clip individuals who began clipping his content on TwitchTV and started posting them to YouTube. Many watched the criticisms of WoW as they were based and full of information about the game. Even people who didn’t play the MMORPG would watch the clipped content as he was extremely passionate about his video game and hated it’s steep decline. He criticized horrible in-game systems, continuously devalued loot, mismanagement, bot farms, and lack of in-game players. Due to his maintained disappointment in the game he moved on to variety streaming of numerous different games including, but not limited to Dark Souls, Final Fantasy XIV, and more comedic games such as Fall Guys. Although he made a stark 180 degree turn with Blizzard games and his criticisms stating he now loves Overwatch 2, Dragonflight, and Diablo 4. He was one of the five original members who started One True King.
2. Mizkif: Started off as an errand boy for Ice Poseidon providing camera work for the once famous personality. As Ice’s fame declined and he was booted off TwitchTV due to an airport debacle he started streaming on YouTube allowing many of his leaches such as Mizkif to participate in his In-Real-Life (IRL) content. However, Mizkif decided it was time to stray away from the once famous streamer to start his own channel and brand. He decided if he could leach off one streamer why couldn’t he do the same with others. Now he participates in his own streamed content playing video games and making content individually. Beginning with clickbait articles and latching onto anyone else famous he grew himself into a now famous streamer. He has millions of fans and haters who watch him for his witty, sarcastic, and meme-like personality. Much of his fame began in 2019 when he received a 7-day ban from Twitch due to making inappropriate comments toward another female streamer at PAX. He was involved in one of the two controversies surrounding One True King. He was one of the five original member who started the organization.
3. Esfand: Started off as a streamer who was a main advocate of bringing back WoW Classic. He mainly played private servers in World of Warcraft as he loved the original content produced by Blizzard early on in their beginnings. EsfandTV was part of a movement to bring back the old-style MMORPG which came to light once Blizzard announced WoW Classic to the community. He was banned once on Twitch for playing on a private server as Blizzard began cracking down on private server activity sending out cease and desist letters to individuals who started their own servers with older alterations of the game. He is mainly loved for his wholesome content with many different streamers and moved onto variety streaming. Esfand was one of the five original members who started the One True King network.
4. Tips Out: Also known as TipsOutBaby played World of Warcraft for a large portion of his life, but didn’t go into content creation until the late 2010’s. He joined One True King as a chief operating officer who works on the business aspect of the organization. He was one of the five original members who started the organization at its conception.
5. Rich Campbell: Started off as an academic in the medical field, but ran into many troubles in his early life. He had to drop out of college during the 2008 recession due to not being able to afford it anymore. Moving on to being homeless, sleeping on friend’s couches, and returned to college to continue in the game development field. Being hired as a cameraman at Major League Gaming (MLG) helped his career as he was able to be a fill-in commentator in 2016 for the company. He was fired at MLG in 2019 because he made many criticisms toward Blizzard and World of Warcraft which helped line him up to Asmongold. After being fired he announced that he will be going into full-time streaming. Rich was involved with one of the two controversies surrounding One True King. Rich was one of the five original members who started the One True King network and was heavily involved with videos, content, and a podcast known as Noodle Shop Podcast with Emiru and Tectone.

Additional and Former Members

As One True King continued its legacy through sponsorships, ad revenue, and their shop which helped monetize the network allowing for much larger scale projects. This also bred them a path to continue expanding their network with new members. With additional members joining One True King it gave them an opportunity to continue forging onward as a bunch of buddies who were passionate about video games, streaming, and creating content. New members added to the gaming network includes:

• Nmplol – Known as Nick has started on YouTube in 2014. Mostly involved in Hearthstone, CS Go, and Vlogs in his early days. Took streaming more critically on Twitch later in his career and lives with famous streamer Sodapoppin. Joined One True King shortly after it was formed in 2020.
• Emiru – Began in 2016 playing League of Legends and cosplaying. Later she moved on to work with the Cloud9 gaming company. In Jan, 2022 joined One True King.
• Sodapoppin – Chance began streaming early on in it’s infancy back in 2012 and is a notable player in the World of Warcraft gaming community. He started an organization called NRG or Northern Gaming in 2016 which was purchased by NRG Esports in 2017. Sodapoppin is infamous during the period of time gambling was allowed on Twitch playing Blackjack. He played with other well-known people during the Among Us explosion and grew in popularity when the COVID-19 Pandemic hit every home worldwide. He joined OTK in the summer of 2022.
• Cyr – Born in Ohio, moved to Hawaii, attended University of Honolulu and graduated in 2009, and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film. Over time he decided to join the content creation hype train and was hailed as a great Role Player. Joined One True King in 2021 shortly after moving to Austin, Texas.
• Tectone – Fun loving and loud personality with a passion for Summoners War in his hay days, moving onto Genshin Impact and Arknights more recently. Has a history with Anime and was a regular on the Noodle Shop Podcast with Emiru and Rich Campbell. Joined One True King network in the winter of 2021.
• ExtraEmily – Most recent member of One True King and joined early in 2023 and was part of the most recent shareholders meeting on Sodapoppin’s channel. ExtraEmily finished school at Columbia University with a degree in financial engineering. After being losing her job in 2022 she began to think about a career in streaming.

Former members of One True King are:

• Rich Campbell – Rich was asked to step down as an OTK shareholder and agreed after a string of events regarding an accused rape allegation on Twitter.
• Jschlatt – Joined One True King in May of 2021 and stepped down in December 2022 with a statement of fulfilling his goals. Maybe he needed to leave the organization to continue his own passions which no longer aligned with the organization.
• BruceDropEmOff – Takes part in YouTube, streaming on Twitch, and produces TikTok videos. Left OTK in January of 2023.

We can see a wide variety of individuals here that love gaming, creating content, streaming on Twitch, and uploading videos to YouTube. Many of the people listed above are extremely talented being involved with the One True King influencer group. As its tough to see some of them leave it only opens room for more people to join the network. Some may be missed more than others; however, it has to be said that the group has made great strides in becoming a more legitimate organization.

Conclusion

One True King was founded on the principles of friends starting an organization to stray away from bad behavior and have fun. Sadly, this was not the case as around a year of the organization’s launch these many truths have come to light. Two of the main five founders of the organization were involved in some way against victims of sexual assault. A heavy blow indeed, but the hardest thing to comprehend is why allow Mizkif back into the network after the atrocities he committed.

Maybe Asmongold will do anything for his “boys” even bringing them back to his group after such disgusting behavior. The victims suffered, the fans suffered, and One True King suffered from improper behavior of their main founders. Although Mizkif and Rich were involved in these controversies it must be said that the rest of One True King is currently in good standing. Even though their two members are bad actors and potentially criminals it doesn’t mean the rest of the company should suffer.

As they handled these events fairly quickly it shows that OTK may be willing to take on these difficult tasks. Even in Asmongold’s video about Rich he stated to not harass the victim and to allow due process to take its course. As One True King is starting to branch out with their partnership involving WePlay at their arena and starting a computer making company known as Starforge, the last thing they needed is these statements of their members.

Although it may be difficult to admit for some fans, it’s necessary to believe Azalia Lexi and AdrianahLee’s truths of the events that happened. Commenters stating that it’s clout chasing don’t seem to understand that this isn’t the type of clout anybody wants to chase. These women simply wanted their stories heard about horrible individuals in the gaming sphere. Without their statements it may have allowed other women to perish under the heavy arm of well-known influencers and streamers. The fame totem pole is real and the power dynamic could cause many other women to stay silent to the predators in the gaming community. What they did was heroic and unless there is additional information it appears their statements line up correctly.

People love One True King and the content creation so hopefully removing and distancing themselves from Rich will allow the organization to grow. However, allowing Mizkif back into One True King created a weakness that the community witnessed directly. Saving friends may not be the ultimate sacrifice as that’s the exact behavior Mizkif committed when he and Maya protected CrazySlick’s sexual harassment case. After AdrianahLee’s story many other women came out to tell about his nauseating behavior towards them. As One True King seems like they are mimicking Mizkif’s behavior by protecting their friend, people will be watching, and they will remember the atrocities committed by two of the founding members.
